Mattie Maud Yancey

Mattie Maud Yancey was born in the Guthridge Mills/Indian Grove area of Chariton County on September 15, 1881 to John Fields and Rosena "Rosa" G Powell Yancey.  Mattie was the second child, her siblings being William L., Jeremiah, Frank, Leroy, Ethel May, Samantha Myrtle, and Johnie.

Mattie died on May 5, 1887 and is buried in Powell Cemetery near her paternal grandmother, Martha J Yancey.  Her parents and siblings moved to Cherry County, Nebraska before 1900 and her father, John, died in Cody, Cherry, Nebraska in 1927 and is buried in the Prairie Lawn Cemetery there.

This base and obelisk was leveled, reset, sealed, and cleaned and can be adopted for $125.
