Working to Preserve the History & Heritage of Chariton County, Missouri

The Historical Society headquarters and Museum is home to thousands of artifacts from Chariton County’s past, as well as the Society’s collection of historical records.

Regular museum hours are April through October, Tuesdays through Saturdays from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM or by appointment.

The museum is closed from November through March, except by appointment.

Admission is free!  Stop in for a tour!

Membership is the primary means of funding the work of the Chariton County Historical Society. Membership is only $15 per year, and allows us to continue preserving and promoting the history of our county.
